Since 2015, we resist by delivering daily thematic material for RPGs in August.
This year, the theme of the alternate August activity was to be “allies”. Ally-a-Day.
But what is that? The enemy appears to lower their arms. Instead of posing questions, RPGaDay2019 presents single word prompts, suddenly opening a path leading past the About towards the For.
While we do not wish to ignore the hand so offered, neither do we wish to cast out our allies because the enemy for once appears conciliatory.
Neither just RPG-a-Day nor just Ally-a-Day.

Day 9: Critical + Allies
Critical
Meet Critical. The youngest of 7 siblings, this young dwarf was never cut out for the life underground. Born into the Featherstone crime syndicate, his love for showdwarfship fell on arid ground. Named Clarence by his parents he only came into his own after meeting Fumble in a small artisan BTL lodge in Seattle. After a short affair, he changed his name to Critical and together they record content for BTLs. The fan base has described their oeuvre as “Punch and Judy, but with magic and communism. Also, lots of weird sex, man.”

Fumble
Everything came easy to Fumble. School, friends, financial success. Everything was handed to him on literal and figurative silver platters, yet nothing ever filled the void inside. He was brought up by perfect parents in a perfect house with perfectly fine morals. But that void led to an insatiable hunger for everything broken, ugly and debased. Everything he was not. He fled to Seattle, where in a anarcho-cabbalistic ritual his birth name James was washed away in a deluge of wine, women, psychedelics and song. Founding his own unnamed BTL studio and meeting his soon-to-be-ex-lover and soulmate Critical always felt like providence after that. He now considers himself a mentor of sorts and has told those stone-faced dwarves inquiring about Clarence that he is unfamiliar with such a person.
