Noone versus The Quick Kid – a rivalry for Unknown Armies

Rivalry
Rival-a-Day, Day 8

Noone
Trading away your name for mystical power will do a number on you. Still, Noone has doubts that the current situation really comes down to that. The strange feeling of déjà vu in every town he enters, the ever repeating confrontations with her, the drinks, the crimes, the fights, the rides into the sunset.

The Quick Kid
Trading away your name for mystical power will do a number on you. Still, the Quick Kid feels in control of the current situation. Her obsession with the draw, with the idea of quickness, of a single lightning fast action compressing life and death and all of existence into one infinitesimal small moment, made her create it in the first place, after all. The charges she draws out of each of her inconclusive clashes with Noone, with the great American arcanum of her obsession, the Gunfighter, propel her onwards, making her arrive sooner, quicker than him in the next town, to have their confrontation play out again. And again. And again. Until she will finally triumph.

Notes
Thinking about Unknown Armies made me revisit the western theme for Rival-a-Day.
