Terminator Armour the wearer gains +0.4 Fractional CAF, a Saving Throw, and the effects of Bulging Biceps, the different pattern of Tactical Dreadnought Armour but also Squat Exo-Armour or Ork Mega-Armour all fall under this heading
Energy Field provides a Saving Throw, these include the common refractor, conversion, power, and displacement fields as well as more esoteric energy barriers
Pistol* each pistol after the first provides +.01 Fractional CAF, examples include autopistols, laspistols and bolt pistols
Basic Weapon* the most common examples are autoguns, bolters, Eldar shuriken catapults, and of course the ubiquitous lasgun
Heavy Weapon* the bearer incurs a -0.2 penalty to Fractional CAF, a retinue with more than one Heavy Weapon gains one additional benefit for two, for four, and for five Heavy Weapons, missile launchers, lascannons, and heavy bolters are typical examples of heavy weapons

Superior Weapon a positive weapon quality is added to another weapon, when creating a new character, this can be applied to any one weapon the character already possesses, an existing character has to add this to the next weapon they gain from advancement
- Penetration not applicable to Close Combat Weapons, per 2 weapons with this quality, the retinue’s Save Modifier is improved by -1, examples include melta and plasma weapons.
- Sustained Fire not applicable to Close Combat Weapons, per 2 weapons with this quality, the retinue gains 1 additional Attack Die, storm bolters are a prime example.
- Precision not applicable to Close Combat Weapons, per 2 weapons with this quality, the retinue gains the benefits of 1 count of the Crackshot talent, needle rifles and other sniper weapons are examples.
- Long Range not applicable to Close Combat Weapons, equipped with at least 2 weapons with this quality, the retinue increases its range band by 1, again, the needle sniper rifle is a good example.
- Close Combat Attachment applicable to Basic Weapons only, a weapon with this quality provides +0.1 Fractional CAF, examples are chain bayonets but also the reinforced construction of Ogryn weapons.
- Superior Close Combat Weapon applicable only to Close Combat weapons, weapons with this quality double their Fractional CAF to +0.4, power gloves and other weapons with power or shock fields, phase blades, or the dreaded Harlequin’s Kiss are examples.
- Suspensors applicable only to Heavy Weapons, a weapon with this quality reduces its Fractional CAF penalty by 0.1 (to -0.1), other methods of making weapons less cumbersome to wield will provide the same benefits as suspensors.
- Digital Weapon applicable to Pistols only, a digital weapon does not require a hand to wield but no more than 2 digital weapons can be equipped at the same time.
- Torrent equipped with at least 2 weapons with this quality, the retinue may ignore cover, flamers are the primary example but the Adeptus Arbites’ executioner shells and some other weapons lend similar results.
- Anti-Psi not applicable to Close Combat Weapons, equipped with at least 2 weapons with this quality, the retinue’s shooting psychic attacks are treated as psychic attacks, the psycannon is a famous example.
- Force Weapon applicable only to Close Combat Weapons, the retinue’s close combat is treated as a psychic attack, and the Fractional CAF is increased by +0.1 for every Psi Power possessed by the wielder, force rods, or Eldar witch blades are typical examples.
Superior Armour a Saving Throw is added to another armour, this can be Power Armour, Terminator Armour, an Energy Field, a Shield, but also the Bionic Enhancements or an assassin’s synskin talent
Jump Pack gain Move 15cm and ignore movement penalties, these are typically jet- and/ or gravitic motor-powered, but can include more primitve rocket packs, or the elegant wings of some Eldar warriors
Bike gain Move 30cm and +0.1 Fractional CAF
Shield gain a Saving Throw in close combat
Cameleonine gain the first effect of the Stealth talent
Bionics may ignore/ remove one of Feeble, Mindless, Lost Arm, Slow, or Blind
Psychic Hood gain a Psychic Save

Combat Drugs when using Combat Drugs, gain the effects of one of Mighty Warrior, Crack Shot, Very Strong, Bulging Biceps, Very Tough, Lithe, Exceedingly Cool, Frenzy, or Die Hard, at the end of the battle, roll for Casualty Recovery, even when the retinue did not become casualties, use of Combat Drugs is voluntary
Inferior Weapon a negative weapon quality is added to another weapon, when creating a new character, this has to be applied to any one weapon the character already possesses, an existing character has to add this to the next weapon they gain from advancement
- Inaccurate not applicable to Close Combat Weapons, the retinue’s Roll to Hit is 1 worse.
- Short Ranged not applicable to Close Combat Weapons, the retinue reduces range by 1 band.
- Slow to Fire and Reload not applicable to Close Combat Weapons, the retinue has 1 less Attack Die.
- Unwieldly not applicable to Close Combat Weapons, Pistols require two hands to use, Basic Weapons and Heavy Weapons impose a -0.1 Fractional CAF penalty (for a total of -0.3 Fraction CAF in case of Heavy Weapons).
- Dull applicable to Close Combat Weapons only, the weapon only provides +0.1 Fractional CAF.
Selfdestruct when triggered, place a barrage template centered on the retinue, it has 2 BP (per Selfdestruct) and a -2 Save modifier, the retinue is automatically hit, the user automatically fails casualty recovery, Selfdestruct triggers automatically when the retinue becomes a casualty, otherwise its use is voluntary, this covers the bomb harnesses worn by Imperial Guard suicide troopers and human bomb squads, but also more esoteric methods such as an Eversor’ assassins biological meltdown.
