Deck Protector

Before the advent of deathsuits deck protectors were a first attempt to reduce the handling problems of glyph cards which had become apparent. The flexible sheaths were made from transparent science friction, and would protect the fragile cards from scuffing, damage and – especially important on Mort – water. The surface texture of the protectors was meant to facilitate rapid thumbing through a deck of cards and provide a steady grip once the correct card had been selected.

When there were still glyph cards deck protectors sold for 50c per package of ten.
