Dead heretics are rendered down to provide the tallow for these lights and candles. Though the practice is not universal, it is common enough across the Imperial cult on many worlds. Those whose profession it is to burn and eradicate the heretic, find grim purpose in lighting such candles during their personal rites and prayers.
Characters who possess at least one of the talents Insanely Faithful or Unyielding Faith and who also possess at least one of the talents Frenzy or Hatred in addition, trigger Righteous Fury on a 9 or 10 on their first attack made against a heretic or mortal servant of chaos after lighting a sinner’s tallow candle.
