Mr. Hückel’s Edible Paper Cookspellbook
Wondrous item, very rare
This cookbook is so overflowing with exquisite pictures and descriptions of the finest dishes, that a mere look will make your mouth water.
The book is arranged in such a fashion, that the two sides of a single sheet of paper wil present dishes which go well with one another. If you tear a page from the book and eat it, the sensations are the same as if you were eating a menu made from the depicted dishes instead of a piece of magical paper. If you take at least half an hour’s time for your meal instead of simply wolfing down the paper, you do not only get to experience the wonderful taste but you also gain the benefits normally granted by participating in the meal conjured by a heroes’ feast spell.
Of the original 100 pages of Mr. Hückel’s edible paper cookspellbook, 1d100 remain at the time of discovery.
It is generally accepted that Mr. Hückel, the creator and namesake of the miraculous book, was a halfing. This is only half true. Mr. Hückel was, indeed, a halfing, however, he did not create the book but stole it from the halforc who originally wrote it.
Why D&D?
Because it came with all the ingredients for putting this idea int practice. Earthdawn would have been another fitting possibility which even might have let to some more interesting variations, however, it also would have taken far more time and effort to realise. Of course, almost any system with the prerequiste magic would do as well.
