No Sustainer (Life Sustainers Component)
So called No sustainers are almost what they sound like. In absence of most of the common life sustaining systems, crew are forced to permanently wear void suits within the vessel, with ample spares and stores distributed in easily accessible – and easily controlled – depots around the ship. Extended voyages become practically impossible under such circumstances, but savings in space and energy and a certain level of resistance to otherwise crippling damage such as major atmosphere loss can make up for this in the minds of some captains travelling shorter and well-known routes, maybe even sticking to intra-system traffic.
Confined to the Shallows: The ship suffers from the effects of long journeys starting already with the first month of debarking.
No Sustainers: This component cannot become damaged, destroyed, unpowered, or on fire. This component and all other components of the ship are permanently considered depressurized and thus cannot become depressurized as a result of damage or other hazards.
