Argent Repose
Injected in quantity into a living subject, this concoction of liquid silver, sanctified herbs and the bodily fluids of the faithful will prevent the recipient’s corpse to be raised or animated by the forces of Chaos, most notably Nurgle’s foul zombie plague.
Argent Repose itself is highly poisonous. After being injected, a character needs to make a Toughness test every hour, gaining one level of Fatigue for every Degree of Failure. If a character collapses due to Fatigue under the influence of Argent Repose, they die. The only way to stop the Toughness tests is to cleanse the body of Argent Repose by way of a complete blood transfusion, although this also ends the protective effects of Argent Repose.
Rumour has it, that it might be possible to inject smaller quantities of Argent Repose into the eyes instead of into the blood stream. This gives the same protective effects and instead of Toughness tests, Fatigue gain and eventual death, the recipient of such a treatment is permanently blinded. Any measures which would restore sight, such as cybernetic replacement, will end the protective effect.
