de/face/ed
de/face/ed – or de//ed – is a psychological combat assistance software for reducing the stress burdens to personnel involved in lethal close quarters fighting against sentient opponents. When engaged, de//ed uses a Reality Overlay perception filter to edit out targets’ recognizable facial features, depersonalizing them and thus helping in overcoming any instinctual inhibitions against the use of deadly force and preempting guilt and other trauma. de//ed can be set to exempt specific individuals or groups from the filtering and includes a universal interface to accept inputs from communication, IFF or other systems to that effect.
de//ed is available for 9c and may be included in certain treatment packages of the Department of Psychology & Psychosis.
Game Use:
Using de/face/ed gives a +1 bonus to COOL rolls to avaoid PS associated with committing violence against people. Additionally, it imposes a -3 modifier on all Charisma based skill uses.
