This handkerchief appears to be a Talabheimer tuch, though very close inspection reveals a small mildewy spot that just cannot be get rid of.
Used preventively, a rotzfähnchen causes a -5 malus on tests against contracting any diseases with the Cough and Sneezes symptom. For users who are already sick, it doubles the effects of Cough and Sneezes on those around them (exposed persons need test for contraction every half hour instead of every hour).
Also, carrying around a rotzfähnchen counts as a moderate corrupting influence.
