While on most starships officers and ratings are trained on the job, some vessels are specifically equipped to provide continuous and advanced drill, education and training to their crews, hosting massive auditoriums, tactical simulators and parade bays, as well as provisions, such as secondary controls, for supervisors to watch over cadet’s stations and for junior crew to observe operations.
