Crater Nose
Crater Nose (7th Circle Obsidiman Illusionist) owes this name to a horror-tainted sling bullet that decades ago hit him squarely in the face and left an ever unhealing wound. It is no easy task to see the pirate in Crater Nose, who spends most of his time in his houses in Kratas and Urupa or on the road between those two cities. With the care and patience characteristic of his people, he spends long years planning and preparing for any single of his raids. Stories in the back alleys of Kratas even have it that he watched children from the day they were born, subtly influencing their life’s path, just so that as adults they would be in the right place at the right time to play some minuscle part in his plans. The actual attacks themselves in contrast almost seem over before they even began and Crater Nose is back to being just a lone Obsidiman lost in his own slow and deep thoughts.
Notes:
This began with the name Crater Nose which I imagined belonging to someone with a prominent (acne) scar at first. But then came that idea of the appelation perhaps being yet more literal – a crater on the stony face of an Obsidiman.
