The FIN consists of a katar-like main blade and a series of smaller secondary blades mounted on the hand and forearm. It uses advanced cutting surfaces on its multiple unpowered blades.
On Powersuits a folding version of the weapon is sometime employed, keeping both arms free for the operation of rifles or other equipment.
It is often used as a dress weapon by Thresher troops.
