The next step up from Animattire, the fabrics A-Wear suits are constructed from are laced with sophisticated sensory neurons, enabling the clothes to react to a variety of outside influences, including light, sound, mechanical and chemical stimuli.

An A-Wear suit costs 70c.

  1. In this case rather basic physiological reactions manifesting as subtle movements of the fabric.
    But with additional specialized cells, or special compounds in the weave other effects would be possible. Colour changes or emitting light come immediately to mind.

  2. In this case basic physiological reactions only, manifesting as subtle movements of the fabric. With the addition of other specialised cells more effects would be possible, changes in colour, emission of light or pheromones, generation of electrical currents &c.. Also the non-living parts of the cloth could be modified to react in some way upon movement in the cells (e.g. thread with a ‘rainbow’ effect (appearing to be a different colour depending on the exact orientation) provoked by pushing and pulling of attached cells).
    But in this case, as I said: Only movement without any exotic side effects.
