Synopsidae-pattern Deck Torpedo Tubes – a new ship component for Rogue Trader

Synopsidae-pattern Deck Torpedo Tubes (Supplemental Component)
The rare Synopsidae-pattern mounts its torpedo tubes in a number of dorsal turrets similar to lance turrets. This can greatly increase the torpedo-based firepower of a vessel, but the tubes are painfully slow to reload from the torpedo room deep below the mounts, while the tubes themselves become far more susceptible to catastrophic damage. This Component is capable of firing six torpedoes in each salvo. It can store 18 torpedoes, plus an additional six if the ship’s captain does not mind keeping six in the tubes.

Deck Mounts: This Weapon Component must be mounted in a Dorsal Weapon Capacity Slot.

Highly Volatile: If this Component is Damaged or Destroyed (but not Unpowered or Depressurised) while torpedoes are loaded in its tubes, it has a 20 percent chance of exploding. In this event, the Component is destroyed and the ship takes 2d5 Hull Integrity damage.

Slow to Reload: These Torpedo Tubes take an extra turn to reload.

Appropriate Hull Types: Light Cruisers, Cruisers
Power: 3
Space: 8
SP: 2
Strength: 6
