The WTA uses heavy sentry gun systems to supplement conventional mines in area denial. The modular platforms usually carry a MILS missile launcher and an autoloader linked to a protomagazine that can be replenished via teleportation from a designated ammunition dump. Once deployed, the systems thus have an effectively unlimited active service life, which is true regardless of the weapon carried.
Standard practice calls for the system to be deployed in groups with overlapping fields of fire. Such groups are linked together in closed data sharing networks creating units far more dangerous than their component parts.
