Despite the availability of different classes of protocol piercing weapons, additional countermeasures to the ubiquituous protocol shields on military hardware were in constant demand by the superpowers during the decades of the Ironhold and after, with both the URRS and the WTA developing and fielding advanced protocols to that effect.
Shield Elimination Protocol (SEP)
U.R.R.S.
A modification of the standard transformation protocol, the SEP has the same statistics as the TFP and follows all of the same rules with the following exceptions: The damage caused by an isolator beam from an SEP does not bypass any shields and so is first deducted from the hitpoints of a shield if the target is protected by one. Any remaining damage is lost and does not transfer to the hitpoints of the target itself. If the target of an SEP-based isolator beam is not protected by a shield, the isolator beam deals no damage.
Overkast: Instead of the normal overkast effect of a transformation protocol, overkasting an SEP increases the damage of the created isolator beam by one order of magnitude per grade (i.e. x10 at Grade I, x100 at Grade II, x1000 at Grade III, and so on).
Barrier Breaker Protocol (BBP)
W.T.A.
Nonlethal Damage: 1d6
Component Purchase DC: 20
Component Weight: 0.5 kg
Kast Check DC: 18
Kasting Time: 1 full round
Range: Long (Kast check result x 10 meters)
Target: One creature, vehicle or structure protected by an autoshields or defensive shield protocol or one defensive shell protocol
Duration: Instantenous
Saving Throw: N/A
Sorcery Resistance: Yes
One of the few direct offensive protocols developed by the West, the BBP reduces the remaining hitpoints of an autoshield, defensive shield of defensive shell by one half.
Overkast: Overkasting increases the fraction by which the remaining hitpoints of the protective protocol are reduced (two thirds at Grade I, three quarters at Grade II, four fifths at Grade III, and so on).
