Martial Archetype – Romantic

Yandere: There is something I find very odd. Whenever romance and love in RPGs is discussed, it always ends up being about sex and relationship, but never about courtly love and jousting. Why do we never go in this direction?
blut_und_glas: Well, you could do it!

And here we are…

Steed and Song
Starting at 3rd level, you are becoming more than just a brutish fighter. You gain proficiency with a music instument of your choice. In addition you may cast find steed once per long rest.

Courtly Love
Starting at 7th level, you enagage in courtly love. You can declare some person as your lady (or your sir). Your declaration lasts for a year and a day. As long as your declaration lasts, you cannot be charmed or frightened except by the person you chose to be your lady. You can only have one such person at any time.

Superior Horsemanship
Starting at the 10th level, you and your mount fight as one. If you or your mount become subject to an effect which requires a Dexterity saving throw to take only half damage, you or your mount instead take no damage, if either of you succeed on the saving throw, and only half damage when both of you fail. In addition whenever your mount takes damage, you may take the damage instead. You may use this feature only while you are mounted.

Jousting Master
Starting at 15th level, you excel at the most noble of sports. Whenever you hit with a lance while mounted, your target must make a Strength saving throw (DC 8 + your Strength modifier + your proficiency modifier) or is pushed back 10 feet and knocked prone. When your target was mounted, he is forcefully dismounted as well.

The Power of Love
Starting at the 18th level, your lady can inspire you to great deeds on the battlefield. Your lady may bestow a small token of her love (typically a handkerchief or a lock of hair) upon you. You may attach this token to one of your weapons or you may choose to wear it on your body.
If you attach it to a weapon, then this weapon ignores any damage resistances or immunities.
If you wear it on your body, you gain resistance against damage from spells and dragon breath weapons.
Attaching or detaching the token from a weapon takes an action.
You may only ever have one such token and it only works as long as the person who gifted it to you remains your lady.
