Emergency Exit – a treasure for The Red Star

Loot-a-Day, Day 10: Precicous stuff in the trunk or glovebox

Emergency Exit
Found in the glovebox of the boss of an infamously brutal Red syndicate, created by criminals, former Red Fleet members and Kommissariat agents emigrated to the WTA, the often hinted at “emergency exit” is just one example for the way the syndicate employs military technology as a matter of course and for the high degree of technical and sorcerous expertise possessed by the criminals – as otherwise non-standard devices such as the emergency exit would be impossible to create.

The palm-sized black plastic device does not look like much at first glance. Opening its hinged cover reveals a large red button and nothing more.

Pressing the button activates a GTP-effect, with the destination gate located in a gate chamber at a safe house. The gate vanishes after 12 seconds. It can only be activated a single time.

Why The Red Star?
Trunk and glovebox – that cooks up images of gangster movies, which in turn immediately leads to associations with The Red Star for me, due to the idea of using ex-Red Fleet soldiers gone syndicate soldiers in the West as a campaign concept.

The one obvious alternative would also have been movie-inspired:

The Marxist Gamer: Repo Man.

Loot-a-Day is a month-long German blogging challenge by fellow German blogger Greifenklaue, who was inspired by ArtifactaDay which we ran last August as a counterpoint to RPGaDay in Germany. We followed up on this with two more marathons of daily content about artificial creatures and science-gone-too-far, respectively, and now Greifenklaue seeks to spread the format.
