Darion is a minor circle deity of Golog. Darion was an alchemist who often risked life and limb. No matter how vile the concoctions, he never shied away from sampling its odour and taste. As he lay dying on the floor of his laboratory, Golog appeared to elevate him just so he could continue to enjoy the results of poor Darion’s curiosity.
Darion’s body was still susceptible to pain and all the discomfort of the senses, even after being turned into an immortal deity, and so he took his place in the circle as the god of schadenfreude.
But it should be Areja who got the last laugh rather than her brother Golog, because Darion went on to invent wine, cheese and all sorts of fermented foodstuffs for which he is greatly praised by members of Areja’s cult to the effect of them being Darion’s main worshippers today.
