RPG+Ally+a+Day: Okapi II + Okapi VII, triumph + allies for Battletech

Since 2014, RPGaDay poses daily questions about RPGs in August.
Since 2015, we resist by delivering daily thematic material for RPGs in August.
This year, the theme of the alternate August activity was to be “allies”. Ally-a-Day.
But what is that? The enemy appears to lower their arms. Instead of posing questions, RPGaDay2019 presents single word prompts, suddenly opening a path leading past the About towards the For.
While we do not wish to ignore the hand so offered, neither do we wish to cast out our allies because the enemy for once appears conciliatory.
Neither just RPG-a-Day nor just Ally-a-Day.
Not or, but and.
Not minus. Plus.

Day 24: Triumph + Allies

Okapi II
The Okapi II is a mercenary Triumph-class dropship, one of two surviving ships of what once was the organic transport of an SLDF armoured brigade. While the brigade is long gone, the crew of the Okapi II and her last sister ship still keeps its memory alive, with old battle honours and unit histories adorning the walls, and a smattering of Star League rank insignia, service and unit patches worn by crew members. As the Star League fell apart and the Inner Sphere descended into the chaos of the Succession Wars, the officers and crews of the Okapi II, many of whom hailed from the Federated Suns, exchanged promises with their comrades from the Okapi VII, who came predominantly from the Draconis Combine, that they would stick together and never work for or against their respective realms of origin. This too, is a tradition the twin mercenary dropships, which always operate together, adhere to to this day.
