Interference Cage (Supplemental Component)
Teleporters are fickle and arcane devices, ill understood in today’s time. Even less well understood in these days, the interference cage may well once have been intended as a supplemental system to a teleporter array, making the materialisation sequence safer and more predictable by routing the teleporter’s signal to a prepared arrival station, similar to a teleport homer but static and thus more powerful. On most vessels gifted with such a system, it is now used as a defense against unwanted intrusion via teleporting, by turning the arrival station into an elaborate trap and killing field.
Teleporter Trap: When this component is functional and powered, any creatures or items teleported onto the vessel automatically arrive within the heavily armoured and sealed (and often trapped) arrival vault at the heart of this component.
