Turning Arrow – an enchantment for D&D

28 enchantments and 3 wishes in thrice accursed, enchanted, bewitched January.

Today: Teleporting arrows once more as the 5th enchantment

Turning Arrow
A creature hit by this arrow and taking at least 1 point of damage from it, is immediately transported to a point adjacent to the archer.

This is an obvious derivation from the 3rd enchantment. What makes it interesting in my eyes is its ambivalence. If you know about its effects, it is a very powerful tool that may easily win you a fight. But if you do not know its effects and use it blindly, it can just as easily make you lose – hard.

If the effect appears to extreme, adding in a saving throw is probably the easiest way to make it less reliable and powerful.

As a final aside, I also considered “hooked arrow” namingwise.
