The Spell of Spells – a wish for D&D

28 enchantments and 3 wishes in thrice accursed, enchanted, bewitched January.

Today: “I’d like to ask for a spell somehow relating to creative aesthetic surgery” as the 2nd wish (by Nerd-Gedanken, who also hosts the German January carnival)

The Spell of Spells
7th-level transmutation (ritual)
Casting Time: 1 minute
Range: 30 feet
Components: V
Duration: Permanent

As you praise a single creature’s beauty by comparing a part of their anatomy to an object, natural feature or other creature which you can currently see, that part of their anatomy permanently transforms to conform with your comparison. This transformation goes beyond evoking mere reminiscene but creates actual, physical likeness. So, if you compared the red of your target’s lips to the roses in your hand, they will take on the exact hue of those roses, if you likened their eyes to the depths of the sea, people will now see into the ocean when they look them in the face, stars will twinkle in the midnight skin you so praised and leaves will fall from their tangle of autumn hair.

Note that the spell of spells only works if praise and comparison are meant sincerely. Otherwise the spellslot is lost.

Some sages speculate that the spell of spells or some ancient and more powerful variant of it may explain the origin of some fey and other nature spirits or at the very least how these beings propagate.

Thoughts
This one took a few days to get right.

What I really wanted to avoid upon hearing Gloria’s wish was to go down the path of doing yet another debased, horrific or otherwise twisted version of aesthetic surgery. RPGs have their fill of that and I did not feel like adding yet another variant at this point. So, what I was looking for was beauty created by magic – weird beauty would be okay, but the core theme had to be beauty – and not “stolen beauty” or whatever either! The idea, then, was to have a spell that would “copy” beauty from nature. A spell that would somehow “detect” beauty in a natural object or feature and transfer it to the spell’s target. A spell to make all those “oh, your … are like …” compliments become reality.

Thanks go out to yandere, who brought up the song of songs at that last point of the explaination and thus inspired the spell (of spells) name.
