Nydele: Countries of Nydele

Finishline. Or close to it. After going over the basics of the setting, and after a detailed look at creatures and religions, it’s high time to give some more background information on the different countries, the names of which have already popped up here and there.

In the vein of classic “continental” fantasy, Nydele boasts some countries whose differences may seem overly pronounced, considering their geographic closeness . Continue reading

Editorial: All in one? No, all new.

d6ideas dice 4When Dark Heresy made its debut as the first official Warhammer 40,000 roleplaying game, I was mostly busy with raging (on the internet, no less!) about how the limited focus on playing acolytes of the Inquisition wasn’t exactly helpful and didn’t do the universe justice.

So here it is. Nydele. Continue reading

Editorial: Game prep? Get a job!

d6ideas dice2Preparing for the game is a topic that currently makes the round on a couple of German RPG-blogs as part of a bloggers’ carnival. The focus in this has been on the minutiae of concrete, practical questions regarding game prep.

I’d like to approach this topic from another direction, taking a look at the bigger picture and touching upon something that I consider important in any event: Continue reading
